Michał Pospiszyl is a historian and assistant professor at the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Scholarships have been awarded from the National Science Centre, the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna, and the Institute for Advanced Study at Central European University in Budapest, visiting scholar at New York University. Current research focuses on a book on escape ecologies in Enlightenment Eastern Europe, with a related article published in Environmental History (2023). Forthcoming publications on this topic will appear in the Journal of Modern History and Environmental Humanities. Pospiszyl lives in the Białowieza Forest.
